Backup Configuration Settings for Common Databases and Applications

The following list provides backup configuration settings for a typical set of databases and applications. Use them as guidelines when configuring backup of your databases and applications.

For backing up databases and applications in general we recommend:

  • Select to backup all directories that contain data that the database/application uses.

  • Schedule backup to run 24x7, continuously. However, you can set any schedule you desire.

Important: It is important to back up the Windows System State/registry for your computer. If you do not back it up, you may not be able to restore your databases or applications. The System State/registry is backed up by default as part of your Files and Directories backup configuration.
