ePolicy Orchestrator

The LiveVault Online Backup Service has been tested with ePolicy Orchestrator (from Network Associates) and LiveVault Online Backup Service is known to run successfully with this product on a computer.

To run ePolicy Orchestrator software and LiveVault Online Backup Service on the same Agent computer, the following ePolicy Orchestrator files/directories need to be excluded from LiveVault Online Backup Service backup:

• <install_dir>\AgentDB\log (including subdirectories)

• <install_dir>\agent.ini

• <install_dir>\history.log

• <install_dir>\Props.ini

LiveVault Online Backup Service Agent version 3.3 and later automatically excludes the logs and agent.ini file/directories. If you are running an earlier Agent version, you must manually create these exclusions. You must always manually create the exclusion for the Props.ini file.

In the tree view on the Files to Backup tab, you will see the icon for the automatically excluded files and directories. Parent directories of the automatically excluded files and directory are marked in MyLiveVault with one of the "partially excluded" icons, either (if a parent directory is selected), or (if a parent directory is not selected).

These files/directories to exclude are located in the ePolicy Orchestrator installation directory, which is specified in the registry key:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\ePolicy Orchestrator\Agent value Installed Path

This is commonly:

C:\ePOAgent

For example, if the specified installation directory is C:\ePOAgent, create the exclusions:

Exclude C:\ePOAgent\AgentDB\log\* (plus subdirectories)
Exclude C:\ePOAgent\agent.ini
Exclude C:\ePOAgent\history.log
Exclude C:\ePOAgent\Props.ini
