DHCP Jet Database
To avoid unnecessarily high data change rates and excessive use of network
bandwidth, the DHCP jet database backup copy needs to be excluded from the LiveVault Online Backup Service backup.
LiveVault Online Backup Service Agent version 3.3 and later automatically exclude the DHCP
jet database backup copy. If you are running an earlier Agent version, you must
manually create the exclusion.
The DHCP backup database
path is specified in the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DHCPServer\Parameters value BackupDatabasePath
However, there is data in that path that must be backed up, so only exclude
the backup copy of the jet database by appending \jet\* to the specified path in the BackupDatabasePath value. For
example, if the BackupDatabasePath value is
%SystemRoot%\System32\dhcp\backup
(which is the default) and
SystemRoot is C:\Winnt, then append \jet\* to create the following exclusion:
Exclude C:\Winnt\system32\dhcp\backup\jet\*
(plus subdirectories)
Important: Do not exclude the entire
backup database path, as it contains information that must be backed up.
In the tree view on the Files to Backup tab, you
will see the icon for the
automatically excluded directory and subdirectories. Parent
directories of the automatically excluded directory are marked in
MyLiveVault with one of the "partially excluded" icons, either
(if a parent directory is selected), or
(if a parent directory is not selected).
