Restoring Deleted Files
When a file or directory is deleted from a computer, LiveVault Online Backup Service continues
to maintain all backed up versions of the file or directory. You can restore
versions of the deleted files and directories until the tapes on which they are
stored expire and are reused.
Deleted files and directories are not shown on the Files to Restore
tab by default. However, you can select the show existing and deleted files
option to include them in the tree view on the tab. Deleted files and
directories are indicated by the following icons:
| Icon |

Deleted directory |
You can select deleted directories and files the same way you select other files.
If you select a directory that contains deleted files, all files including
deleted ones within the directory will be restored.
Important: When you select a deleted directory, you may be restoring far more
files than you anticipated. View the files in the directory to ensure the
expected result.
To specify whether to restore deleted files
In the
Files to
Restore tab on the Computer Restore
form, use the show existing and deleted files option to specify whether you want to
restore deleted files:
Click show existing and deleted files to view, select and restore
both files currently residing on your computer and deleted files. Then click OK in the
confirmation message box.
Click show existing files if you do not want to
view, select and restore deleted files.
