Canceling a Restore Job

To cancel an active Network restore job

You can cancel an active Network restore job through MyLiveVault.

  1. On the MyLiveVault Home page, the All Computers form lists all the computers on your company account. Click Backup/Restore in the Action column for the computer whose restore job you want to cancel.

  2. On the Computer Information form, click the Restore tab.

  3. In the Restore Jobs section, identify the restore job you want to cancel (by ID number and name), and click Cancel for that job.

Note: If a Cancel button is not available for the desired job, then either the Network restore has completed, this is a Media restore, or this is an Automatic restore and a delivery method has not been decided.

  4. A message indicating that your cancel request is being processed is displayed; click OK.

Canceling a restore job that overwrites files

If you cancel a Network restore job that is using an "overwrite existing file" option to handle filename conflicts, LiveVault Online Backup Service cannot guarantee the condition of a file it is in the process of overwriting.

As such, LiveVault Online Backup Service will delete this file. This means that neither the existing file nor the restored file will be on the restore job's destination location.

To cancel a Media or Automatic restore job

You must contact Customer Service to cancel either of the following:

  • A Media restore job prior to the media shipping.

  • An Automatic restore job whose delivery method has not been decided.

If you want to cancel the restore job when you are restoring from the media to your computer, refer to the document provided in the media package (either "Restoring Your Data From a NAS Device" or "Restoring Your Data From the CD-ROM"). These documents are also available from Restoring Your Data from Media.
