Removing the Agent Software
After removing a computer from LiveVault Online Backup Service, you need to remove
the Agent software from the computer.
If you require assistance at any time during this process, please
contact Customer Service.
Stop the LiveVault Service:
Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and double-click
Services.
Click LiveVault in the services box.
Click Stop.
When prompted to confirm that you want to stop the LiveVault service, click
Yes.
Click Close.
Remove the Agent software:
In the Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.
In the Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box, click
LiveVault.
Click Add/Remove.
Click Yes in the Confirm File Deletion prompt.
When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion of the LiveVault databases.
Click No to All in the Remove Shared File dialog box.
After the program is removed, click Yes in the restart prompt. The
computer will now restart.
After the computer has restarted, verify that the LiveVault service has been removed:
Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel and double-click on
Services.
Look for LiveVault in the services box.
If you see the service still listed in the services box, go back to
step 1 and follow the instructions again to stop the service and remove
the software.
Delete any additional LiveVault files that may remain on the
computer:
In Windows Explorer, navigate to the temporary directory (for example, C:\TEMP).
In the temporary directory, look for a LiveVault subdirectory. If there is a LiveVault
subdirectory, go to the next step. Otherwise, you have completed the software removal.
Right-click on the LiveVault subdirectory, and click Delete on the shortcut menu.
In the Confirm Folder Delete prompt, click Yes.
