Backing Up a New Volume

When you add a new volume to your computer, the existing backup configurations for that computer will not automatically back up data from that volume.

You must modify your backup configurations to back up the data from the new volume:

• If the volume contains general files and directories, modify the computer's Files and Directories backup configuration and select the new volume to be backed up.

• If the volume contains Microsoft Exchange, either create an Exchange backup configuration (if this is a new Exchange installation), or modify your existing custom Exchange backup configuration if appropriate. If you already have an automatic Exchange backup configuration, then Exchange data on the new volume is backed up as part of the automatic maintenance of the backup configuration.

• If the volume contains a database or application to be backed up, either modify the existing associated database backup configuration or create a new database backup configuration, as appropriate.
