Creating a New Database Backup Configuration

You should create a different database backup configuration to back up each individual database on your computer. For each database, you need to select just the associated database files, and set a schedule indicating when that database should be backed up.

To create a new database backup configuration

  1. On the MyLiveVault Home page, the All Computers form lists all the computers on your company account. Click Backup/Restore in the Action column for the computer you want to create a new database backup configuration for.

  2. On the Computer Information form, click the Backup tab.

  3. In the Backup Configuration section, click Edit.

  4. On the Databases Backup form on the Change Configuration page, click New.

  5. On the Computer Backup form, type a name for the new configuration in the Name of database box.

  6. In the Files to Backup tab on the Computer Backup form, specify the files and directories associated with this database or application that you want to back up. You can use either of these methods to specify the files:

  7. In the Schedule tab, create a schedule for the backup configuration.

  8. Click Save.

  9. Review the information in the Computer Backup form's Properties and Specifications columns

  10. Do one of the following:

    • Click Submit to accept the backup configuration. The name of the new database backup configuration is displayed on the Databases Backup form.

    • Click Back to make changes to the configuration.

  11. Do one of the following:

    • If you are done creating database backup configurations, click Done on the bottom of the Change Configuration page (not in a form).

    • To add another new database backup configuration, go to step 4 and repeat these steps for that configuration.
