Monitoring Backup Bandwidth Usage
Monitor a computer's bandwidth usage to see how much bandwidth the computer is using over time to back up its files.
To monitor backup bandwidth usage
-
On the MyLiveVault Home page, the All
Computers form lists all the
computers on your company account. Click Backup/Restore in the
Action column
for the computer whose backup bandwidth usage you want to monitor.
-
On the Computer Information form, click the
Summary tab.
In the
Bandwidth and Latency
section, in the
Show list select the Bandwidth Usage
chart you want to view. You can choose to view backup bandwidth usage charted over
the past 24 hours (24 hour
outbound bandwidth) or the past seven days (7
day outbound bandwidth).
The chart graphs the
backup bandwidth usage for the computer where:
The Data Transferred value indicates the
amount of data transferred
from your computer to the backup server.
The Time of usage value indicates when the data
was transferred; for example, 3
hrs ago.
Note: The outbound bandwidth charts show the amount
of data transferred from your Agent computer to the backup server, primarily
showing data being backed up. However, you will also observe on the inbound
bandwidth charts a minor amount
of control data that is transferred during backup operations.
The chart is updated with current data every 20 minutes.
Note: If you are concerned about excessive bandwidth usage, we strongly recommend
contacting Customer Service for assistance in analyzing what is causing the
bandwidth usage and determining the most appropriate course of action.
