Setting Up a Files and Directories Backup Configuration
A general Files and Directories backup configuration must be created for each computer. By default, this configuration will back up
all the files and directories on the computer, as well as the Windows System State or registry. However, it will not back up those files and
directories that you specifically exclude from backup, or those files
and directories that you specify on other backup configurations. In addition,
there are some files that LiveVault Online Backup Service will automatically
exclude from backup, and some items that it does not support; for more
information, see Automatic and Recommended Backup Exclusions
and Objects That Cannot Be Backed Up.
This backup
configuration will always appear for a computer, even if you specifically exclude all files and
directories from the backup configuration.
Note: If you are running anti-virus software or certain
other applications, additional configuration is required to ensure
successful backup operations. See Configuring
Your Backup: Guidelines for more information.
