Modifying a Database Backup Configuration
-
On the MyLiveVault Home page, the All
Computers form lists all the
computers on your company account. Click Backup/Restore in the
Action column
for the computer whose database backup configuration you want
to modify.
-
On the Computer Information form, click the
Backup tab.
In the Backup Configuration section, click Edit.
On the Databases
Backup form on the Change Configuration page, select the
name of the configuration that you want to modify from the list of existing database configurations, then
click Edit.
On the Computer Backup
form, the current name for the
database backup configuration is displayed in the Name of database box.
You can type in a new name if you want.
The files and directories currently selected to be backed up or
excluded from backup by this configuration are shown in the
Files to Backup tab on the Computer Backup
form. You can use either of these methods to modify which files and
directories to back up:
The current schedule for the database backup
configuration is displayed on the Schedule tab.
You can modify
this schedule.
When you are done modifying the backup configuration, click Save.
Review the information in the
Computer Backup form's Properties and
Specifications columns.
Do one of the following:
-
Click Submit to accept the modified backup configuration.
-
Click Back to make additional changes to the configuration.
-
Click Cancel if you do not want to modify the
configuration.
Do one of the following:
-
If you are done modifying database backup configurations, click Done
on the bottom of the Change Configuration page
(not in a form).
-
To modify another database backup configuration, go to
step 4 and repeat these steps for that configuration.
If you modified the file selections for the backup configuration, LiveVault Online Backup Service
stops the backup for this configuration and restarts it using the new
file selections. The computer will be in an initial synchronization state again in
which only the files selected for the first time will be backed up in full
(that is, files that were selected on prior backup configurations are not
backed up in full again). When the initial synchronization completes, the primary technical contact will
be notified by e-mail.
If you modified the schedule, schedule options, or backup type, these
changes are implemented as soon as possible.
