Stopping and Starting the Agent Services (A036)
In some instances LiveVault Online Backup Service will lose the connection with your
Agent computer. If we are unable to reconnect, stopping and starting the
LiveVault services named LiveVault and LiveVault Wflo Service will force the connection.
To stop and then re-start these services, follow
the procedures below.

Stopping the LiveVault services
On the Desktop, click Start and select Settings and then
Control Panel.
Do one of the following:
If you have a Windows 2000/2003 system do the following:
In the Control Panel, click Administrative Tools.
In the Administrative Tools window, double-click Services.
If you have a Windows NT system, in the Control Panel,
double-click Services.
In the Services window, locate the LiveVault service
and right-click
on it.
From the pop-up menu, select Stop. This will stop the
LiveVault service. Wait for the Service Control dialog box to confirm
that the service has stopped.
Note: If the Status column for
this service is blank, or if the Stop command on the pop-up menu is not
available,
then this service is already stopped.
In the Services window, locate the LiveVault Wflo Service and right-click
on it.
From the pop-up menu, select Stop. This will stop the
LiveVault Wflo Service. Wait
for the Service Control dialog box to confirm that the service has stopped.
Starting the LiveVault services
On the Desktop, click Start and select Settings and then
Control Panel.
Do one of the following:
If you have a Windows 2000/2003 system do the following:
In the Control Panel, click Administrative Tools.
In the Administrative Tools window, double-click Services.
If you have a Windows NT system, in the Control Panel, double-click Services.
In the Services window, locate the LiveVault service
and right-click
on it.
From the pop-up menu, select Start. This will start the
LiveVault service. Wait
for the Service Control dialog box to confirm that the service has started.
In the Services window, locate the LiveVault Wflo Service and right-click
on it.
From the pop-up menu, select Start. This will start the
LiveVault Wflo Service. Wait
for the Service Control dialog box to confirm that the service has started.
Verify the Agent has reconnected:
Log into MyLiveVault and verify the Agent's status is not
Disconnected
(on the MyLiveVault Home page
in the
All Computers
form).
In the Windows Event Viewer, check the Application log for
a new event message from the Source LiveVault.net similar to the following:
Tunnel 1 connected to <address>
If the Agent has not reconnected, contact Customer Service for
assistance.
