Computer Restore: Delivery tab

Purpose

Use this Delivery tab on the Computer Restore form to:

  • Specify how you want the restored data delivered to you:

    • Over the Internet.

    • On physical media, either CD-ROM or Network Attached Storage (NAS).

    • Allow Customer Service to select the most efficient delivery method.

    Provided you are assigned both the restore capabilities, User can perform network restores and and shipped media restores, you can choose any of the three delivery options. Otherwise, only the option to have the restored data delivered over the Internet is available.

  • Specify shipping information for a restore that will be delivered on media. If you want to change the shipping information after you submit this restore request, you must contact Customer Service.

In addition, you can:

  • Name the restore job.

  • Save the new restore job request.

Fields and Buttons Descriptions

Field/Button Description
Name of restore Type a name for the restore job. This can include any letters, numbers, or symbols, to a maximum of 229 characters, except for:
  • { or }

  • $$

This name does not have to be unique. You can reuse names for restore jobs. However, you should choose a name that will help you identify the restore job.

Network Click if you want to restore your files and directories over the Internet.

If you select this delivery method, the Ship to fields and media fields on this form are not available.

Automatic Click if you want us to determine the fastest method for delivering your restored files and directories, either over the Internet or on physical media.

We will consider several factors, including the amount of data to be restored. After we analyze your restore request and determine a delivery method, we will send you an e-mail to let you know how the restored data will be delivered.

If you select this delivery method, the Ship to fields and the media fields on this form are required, because we may choose to deliver the restored data on media.

Media Click if you want to restore your files and directories to physical media and have the media shipped to you or another specified party.

You can then specify your media preference in the Media type box on this form.

If you select this delivery method, the Ship to fields and the media fields on this form are required.

Quick fill Select an existing user to whom you want us to ship the media containing your restored data. The selected user's address and phone number information (from the user's account) automatically fills in the shipping information fields. You can edit this information for this shipment; your changes do not change the user's actual account information.

This defaults to the user that is requesting the restore.

If you want the media to be shipped to a person that is not a current user for the company account, click Clear. All the pre-filled information is removed from the shipping fields.

Clear button Click to clear all information from the Quick fill and Ship to fields.
First name Type the first name of the person to whom we will ship the media containing your restored data.

If you selected a user from the Quick fill list, this is automatically filled in.

Last name Type the last name of the person to whom we will ship the media containing your restored data.

If you selected a user from the Quick fill list, this is automatically filled in.

Company Type the name of the organization where the person to whom we will ship the media containing your restored data works.

If you selected a user from the Quick fill list, this is automatically filled in.

Address Type the mailing street address, including building number and street name, to which we will ship the media containing your restored data.

If you selected a user from the Quick fill list, this is automatically filled in.

City Type the city or town to which we will ship the media containing your restored data.

If you selected a user from the Quick fill list, this is automatically filled in.

State or Region/Province Type the state (if in the United States) or the region/province to which we will ship the media containing your restored data.

If you selected a user from the Quick fill list, this is automatically filled in.

Country Type the country to which we will ship the media containing your restored data.

If you selected a user from the Quick fill list, this is automatically filled in.

ZIP/Postal code Type the zip or postal code for the city or town to which we will ship the media containing your restored data.

If you selected a user from the Quick fill list, this is automatically filled in.

Phone number Type a phone number for the person to whom we will ship the media containing your restored data.

If you selected a user from the Quick fill list, this is automatically filled in.

Phone ext. Type a phone extension for the person to whom we will ship the media containing your restored data.

If you selected a user from the Quick fill list, this is automatically filled in.

Shipping comments Type any additional instructions you might have about the shipment or delivery of the media containing your restored data.
Shipment requirements Select the shipment delivery schedule that you want us to use when shipping the media containing your restored data.
  • Fastest possible (overnight air, morning delivery)

  • Next day (standard overnight shipment)

  • Two day (two day air)

In most instances we will use Fastest possible shipping, unless you specify otherwise.

Media type Select the type of media you want to receive your restored data on:
  • Best type: Select this option if you want us to determine the best type of media to use. We will consider several factors, including the amount of data you are restoring.

  • CD-ROM (best for up to 5 GB)

  • Network Attached Storage (best for 5 GB+)

We will default this option to Best type, and determine the type of media to use, unless you specify a preference.

Password to encrypt media Type a password that we will use to encrypt the CD-ROM or NAS media containing your restored data.

You will have to enter this password when you (or the person you specify to ship to) receives the media in order to decrypt the media so the data can be restored to your computer.

Important: If you request to have us ship the media to another person, you are responsible for providing this password to that person. That person must have this password to restore the data from the media.

Confirm password Type your media encryption password again, to ensure that you entered the password correctly.
Save button Click to save your restore job configuration. A form opens so you can review your restore job configuration.

Note: You must completely configure your restore job before you can save the request.

Cancel button Click to discard your restore request and return to the Restore tab on the Computer Information form.
