New Computer

Purpose

Use this New Computer form to:

  • Review the information that you entered for this computer.

  • Submit the information to enroll this computer in LiveVault Online Backup Service.

  • Go back to the previous form to change the computer information.

You can later change the information for a computer in MyLiveVault on the Computer Information form, Properties tab.

Fields and Buttons Descriptions

Field/Button Description
Computer name Displays the simple machine name of the computer you want to back up, for example, MYCOMPUTER1. This is the name that will be used to identify the computer in MyLiveVault and in all service-related information.

LiveVault Online Backup Service requires each computer in your company account to have a unique computer name.

Primary technical contact Displays the name and e-mail address of the primary technical contact that you selected for the computer.

We will contact the primary technical contact if there is a technical question or issue with this computer.

Secondary technical contact Displays the name and e-mail address of the secondary technical contact that you selected for the computer.

We will contact the secondary technical contact if there is a technical question or issue with this computer and we are unable to reach the primary technical contact.

If you did not specify a secondary technical contact, then (none specified) is displayed.

Can Manage Displays the users that you specified can access and manage this computer.
Submit button Click to submit the computer information to enroll the computer in LiveVault Online Backup Service. The All Computers form opens, where the new computer name is listed with the status Pending Security Authorization.
Back button Click to go back to the previous New Computer form so you can change the information you entered for the computer.
Cancel button Click to discard the information you entered for the computer. The computer is not added to LiveVault Online Backup Service.
