| Field/Button |
Description |
| Name of database |
This box appears if you are creating a database
configuration. Type a name for this configuration.
Assign a name that will allow you to identify the database that
is being backed up. For example, if you are backing up your
Microsoft SQL server, you might use the name
SQL.
|
| Schedule grid |
Use this schedule grid to specify when the backup
configuration will run. The default schedule is 24x7.
The grid consists of hours of the day (columns) and days of the
week (rows). Each horizontal row identifies a day of the week,
with Monday at the top. The first time period (left edge of the
grid) is 12 AM, midnight. Each square on the grid represents one
hour.
Use the grid to schedule the intervals during which the backup
configuration will execute. An interval can consist of one or more
successive hours, and can span multiple days. Each group of
horizontally contiguous shaded squares defines an interval during
which the backup is scheduled to execute.
A cleared square indicates that the backup is not scheduled to
execute during that time period.
To schedule backup to run:
-
Click one of the Quick Scheduling buttons
(see the buttons description below).
-
Click each square individually to toggle
on/off.
-
Click a square and drag the mouse across the
successive squares to toggle on/off.
-
Click a square and drag the mouse diagonally
across successive squares to toggle on/off (based on the
status of the first cell).
A backup job starts at the beginning of a schedule interval. |
| Schedule / time zone |
Displays the number of scheduled intervals selected
in the schedule grid (for example, "3 times per week "
or "24x7"). Also indicates the
time zone for the Agent computer based on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). |
| If necessary, run beyond scheduled time until backup
is complete |
Select this check box if you want the backup to run
until synchronization is complete, even if the scheduled time has
ended. This is selected by default if Run-once backup is
selected. |
| Continuous backup / Run-once backup |
Select one of these options to specify what backup
type to run:
-
Continuous backup = Select this option to
run backup in continuous mode. Backup runs all the time,
synchronizing the files once, then backing up changes as they
occur on your computer
-
Run-once backup = Select this option start and
stop backup according to a schedule, synchronizing the files
each time the backup starts. This option is not available if
you set a 24x7 schedule.
The default is Continuous backup, except if you
click the Once Per Week quick scheduling button. If you
click the Once Per Week quick scheduling button, the
default is Run-once backup.
