What is the Service?

LiveVault Service is a complete managed service solution providing online backup, recovery, and electronic vaulting for your servers running Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003.

MyLiveVault, the Web-based user interface for LiveVault Online Backup Service, is where you add computers, configure backup, and request restores. MyLiveVault also provides 24x7 access to check the status of your backup and restore operations.

LiveVault Service makes backing up your data easy and convenient. You specify what you want to back up and when, and LiveVault Online Backup Service backs up your data over your existing Internet connection to a secure offsite data center. After an initial copy of all files, LiveVault Online Backup Service then only copies changed portions of files at the byte level.

Recovering your data is easy and convenient, whether you need to recover your entire computer or to restore a few files. LiveVault Online Backup Service gives you a choice to restore the needed data—choose the most recent version or use the convenient Time-Slice Restore feature to choose a historic version. Either way, you select the files to be restored from an Explorer-like file system view. If you are restoring a small amount of data, you can restore it over the Internet directly to your computer. For larger amounts of data, the restored data will be shipped to you on media such as CD-ROM or Network Attached Storage device. The media is encrypted and password-protected to safeguard your data.

LiveVault Online Backup Service secures your data transmission over the Internet by combining password-protected SSL-level web access, electronic key technology, advanced encryption techniques, and industry-standard digital certificates with proprietary virtual private network tunneling technology.

LiveVault Online Backup Service provides constant monitoring of your backup and restore operations through the Service Operations Center (SOC). The SOC utilizes cutting-edge software to monitor and maintain all the LiveVault Online Backup Service operations and systems.
